Adaptive Reuse

The act of transforming structures no longer in use into something new. Adaptive reuse projects combat urban decay and take advantage of the large amount of recycled materials that can be utilized on a project. These types of projects minimize demolition and therefore contribute to a project of far less waste.

Recycled Materials

As much as 30% of all building materials delivered to a building site end up in landfills. To combat this, recycled materials including: wood, metal and masonry are collected and stored. Not only are materials collected on our own building projects but we work with local contractors to collect their waste as well.

Sustainable Forestry

Unlike many building materials (steel, for instance), wood does not deplete the earth of its natural resources. Because it’s a resource that more or less stands on its own, it can be grown and harvested over and over again. Working with local mills in nearby Mississippi who sustainably collect downed trees and use solar powered kilns, we are able to use local hardwoods in many of the projects. When reclaimed wood from demolition does not suffice for all the projects needs, these sustainably sourced wood fills the void.
